Best of all, PostGreSQL is FREE!!! In this day and age of high licensing costs, no licensing and software costs for a best-of-breed database server is a very significant saving. Based on Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise with 25 users, this could save you almost £10,000!!!

In addition, PostGreSQL is fully compatible with, and a perfect partner for, the Linux and UNIX operating systems. By using Linux, you remove the need to run Windows Server on your database server. Based on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with 25 users, this could save you a further £1500.
